Next.js Development

Next.js development can support a content website, a web application or both. We plan the page structure, user journeys and system connections around your functionality and maintenance needs.

01Site Parts

Decide what each part of the site must do

A public service page, a searchable catalogue and a signed-in account area have different requirements. We identify which information is public, which changes frequently and which actions require authentication.

That separation helps us plan how pages receive their content and how interactive features work. It also makes editing and release responsibilities easier to explain to your team.

02Content

Keep content management practical

If your team updates pages regularly, the editing workflow belongs in the project brief. We discuss where content is stored, who can change it and how an update reaches the website. A technically sophisticated build is not helpful if routine edits become unnecessarily difficult.

03Search

Plan search and performance alongside functionality

We consider the important public pages, navigation and metadata as part of development. Performance work focuses on representative pages and user actions. Neither the framework nor a test score guarantees search rankings or a particular business result.

For an existing application, we first inspect its version, dependencies and deployment arrangement. A focused improvement or carefully planned upgrade may be more appropriate than a complete rebuild.

04Testing

Check the application before handing it over

The test plan follows the agreed functionality, including important forms, account actions and connected data.

  • We also identify what your team needs to manage after release and how issues will be reported.

Questions before getting started

Is Next.js better than WordPress?

It depends on the job. Editorial needs, application behaviour, existing systems and maintenance all influence the choice. We can compare those requirements rather than choosing on fashion.

Can you connect a content management system?

We assess the chosen system, its supported access and your editing workflow before confirming the integration.

Can you take over an existing Next.js project?

We can review the application and access available, then propose the relevant work. The current setup determines the scope.

Bring the website or application you have in mind and the tasks it must support.
