Custom Website Design

Our custom website design service helps customers understand your business and take the next step. We design and develop websites around your services, your customers and the way you want enquiries to reach you.

A website built around your business

A good starting brief does not need technical terminology. Tell us what you sell, who you want to reach and what customers need to know before they contact you. We turn that into a page structure, content plan and design.

If you already have a website, we look at it first. You may need a better service page, clearer navigation or a repaired enquiry route rather than a complete rebuild. The recommendation should explain the reason for the work.

02Design

Design and development in one plan

  • Custom website design

Give each page a clear job. The design should help visitors understand your offer, compare the relevant information and find a contact route without searching through unrelated sections.

  • Website development

We build the page layouts and functionality behind the design. Forms, booking connections and other features are defined around the information your team needs and the tools involved.

  • WordPress websites

WordPress is an option when you need a website your team can update. We discuss the editing experience, integrations and care requirements before choosing the setup.

  • Redesigns and focused improvements

An existing website can keep useful content and working features while the parts that cause problems are improved. For a larger rebuild, we also plan the treatment of existing URLs and customer journeys.

03Landing

Landing pages for a campaign or offer

A landing page has one job: help a visitor take one action for one offer, such as requesting a quote, booking a call or buying a product. A landing page project can be a single page or a short set of pages, and it includes:

  • Copy: A message that matches the offer or advert, answers the questions a buyer needs settled first and asks for one clear action.
  • Design: A layout built around that action, with the proof you can genuinely supply, readable on a phone and without distracting navigation.
  • Build: The page built on the agreed platform and connected to the enquiry route your team uses.
  • Form and booking testing: Test enquiries to confirm required fields, error messages, the confirmation message and delivery to the intended inbox or system.
  • Conversion handoff: The action to be measured is agreed and tested, then shared with whoever manages the campaign or tracking.
  • Launch review: Your team approves the page and checks the first real enquiries for usefulness.

Not every campaign needs a new page; sometimes a focused change to an existing service page is enough. PPC Management explains how the advert and page are matched, and the guide on a website that gets visitors but not enquiries helps diagnose a weak page first.

04Pages

Decide what each page needs to do

Use these questions to prepare for a website project. They help us make practical decisions about the pages and functionality.

Service page

Decision to make

What should a customer understand before enquiring?

What to test

The offer and contact route are clear

Contact form

Decision to make

What information does your team actually need?

What to test

A test enquiry reaches the intended destination

Mobile navigation

Decision to make

Which pages should be easiest to reach?

What to test

Menus and buttons work on a phone

Editing access

Decision to make

What will your team update themselves?

What to test

The intended editor can make those changes

Landing page

Decision to make

Which single action should it ask for, and what should it leave out?

What to test

The page shows one clear action and a test enquiry reaches the intended destination

Care and access

Decision to make

Who holds the domain, hosting and logins, and who handles updates, backups and SSL?

What to test

Owner access works and the responsibilities are written down

Launch

Decision to make

Which old addresses must remain usable?

What to test

Important old routes reach the correct new pages

05Care

Keep your website working after launch

We also provide website care covering domain administration, website updates, security, backups, SSL support and assistance if a site is hacked. The care arrangement should identify the site, domain, access, the tasks included and who to contact. Security work reduces avoidable exposure; it cannot make any website immune to problems.

Before launch, we check the agreed pages and features. Your team reviews business details and the way enquiries are handled. That gives both sides a clear basis for the handover. The Website maintenance and care page covers these responsibilities in more detail.

06Accessibility

Make the website usable for more people

We include practical checks for readable content, keyboard navigation, form labels and clear feedback.

  • Any specific accessibility standard or independent audit belongs in the agreed requirements; a design choice alone is not a compliance guarantee.

07Scope

Agree what accessibility work covers

Accessibility work is easiest to buy when its scope is written down. These are the decisions to make before design or remediation starts.

New build

What we can scope

Headings, readable text and contrast, keyboard use, visible focus, form labels, error messages and text alternatives for meaningful images on the agreed templates

What to confirm

Every page can be used with a keyboard and a form can be completed without a mouse

Existing pages

What we can scope

Specific issues you already know about, such as missing labels, unclear link text, focus order or keyboard traps, on the pages you name

What to confirm

Each reported issue is retested after the change

Requested standard

What we can scope

A target such as a WCAG level, written into the requirements with the pages and journeys it covers

What to confirm

Which pages and journeys are in scope and who verifies them

Independent audit or user testing

What we can scope

Not assumed. Tell us at the start if you need one so it can be a separate, stated part of the requirements

What to confirm

Who performs it and how findings return to the project

Automated checkers help, but the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative notes that no tool alone can determine whether a site meets accessibility standards, so manual checks are part of the work. This is practical accessibility work, not legal advice, and it does not guarantee that a website meets a legal requirement or a full conformance level.

08Platform

Choose the platform around the work

WordPress can suit a website your team needs to edit regularly.

  • Next.js may be relevant when the project needs a more customised website or application approach.
  • We compare the editing, integration and maintenance requirements before choosing.
  • Domain, hosting and access responsibilities are part of that discussion.

Questions about your website

Can you work with my existing content?

Yes. We review what is useful and what needs updating. You do not need to discard accurate material simply because the design is changing.

Which technology should we use?

The choice depends on the functionality, editing needs, existing systems and ongoing support. We explain the options against those requirements.

Can you build a landing page for a campaign?

Yes. The scope covers the copy, design, build and form testing for one offer, and the conversion action to be measured. Connecting it to advertising is covered under PPC management.

Can you look after the website after launch?

Yes. Website care covers domain administration, updates, security, backups, SSL support and help if a site is hacked, as set out in the care arrangement. The Website maintenance and care page has the fuller description.

Will the website be certified as accessible?

No certification is promised. We apply the agreed accessibility checks and requirements to the pages in scope. A specific standard or independent audit has to be named in the requirements.

Is an online store included?

Store development is a related service with its own product, checkout and operational requirements. We scope those separately from a general business website.
