We review the pages explaining your business, the questions they answer and the supporting information behind their claims. Important explanations should be available as readable content and connected through useful links.
AI Search Optimization
AI Search Optimization
Help people understand your business when they ask Google or an AI assistant for answers. Our AI search optimization service checks whether your website can be found, whether it answers the questions that matter to customers and how your business appears in the results we can observe.

01Website
Start with a website that can be understood
The purpose is to make the business understandable to customers and search systems. It is not to replace a clear service page with a collection of phrases written only for a model.
02Review
What we review
Access and page availability
Check whether the intended public pages can be reached and whether relevant search restrictions are deliberate. Technical conditions need to be assessed before assuming that missing visibility is a writing problem.
Clear answers
Explain the service, its limits and the next step. A concise answer helps when it resolves the customer's question; a fixed paragraph length is not a guarantee of selection.
Supported information
Keep business facts, qualifications and other claims tied to reliable information. Where a claim cannot be supported, remove or qualify it rather than manufacture authority.
Consistent business details
Review the public information relevant to the business. A conflicting service description or contact route can confuse customers regardless of how they find it.
03Google
Google's published requirements
Google says ordinary SEO practices remain relevant to AI Overviews and AI Mode. It does not require a special AI file or special schema. Supporting-link eligibility depends on being indexed and eligible for a search snippet; eligibility does not guarantee inclusion. Google's AI features guidance.
That guidance concerns Google's features. We do not present it as a universal explanation of every AI platform.
04Platforms
Google, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Copilot need separate checks
Your business might appear in one tool and be missing from another. We agree which platforms and customer questions matter before choosing the work.
Google AI Overviews and AI Mode
What we assess
Page eligibility, useful answers and the sources shown for agreed questions
What you receive
A record of observed appearances and priorities for the website
ChatGPT search
What we assess
Search access, relevant pages and linked or unlinked business mentions
What you receive
Platform-specific findings with the question and conditions recorded
Perplexity
What we assess
Access for its search crawler and the pages cited in observed answers
What you receive
A source comparison and corrections worth investigating
Microsoft Copilot and Bing
What we assess
Relevant results and available Bing Webmaster Tools evidence
What you receive
Citation observations kept separate from visits and enquiries
OpenAI distinguishes its search crawler, OAI-SearchBot, from GPTBot, which relates to model training. Allowing search access does not require treating those settings as the same decision. We review access settings with you before recommending a change. OpenAI crawler guidance.
Perplexity also documents a search crawler, PerplexityBot, and publishes guidance for website access. We check the relevant settings rather than assume that allowing Google alone settles access for every platform. Perplexity crawler guidance.
05Answers
Answers that help someone choose your business
A customer may ask what a service includes, how two options differ or whether you can handle a particular requirement. We look for useful answers on the pages where a visitor would expect them: service scope, comparisons, practical steps, limitations and next actions.
Where your team can supply original examples or documented experience, we help make that information clear. We do not fill evidence gaps with invented customer stories. Improving a website also does not mean an AI model's stored knowledge immediately changes.
06Deliverables
What you receive
We agree the platforms and customer questions to assess before starting. The work can include:
Deliverable
Starting visibility record
What it helps you decide
Where your business is mentioned or linked for the agreed questions, with dates and testing conditions recorded
Deliverable
Website access and content review
What it helps you decide
Whether restrictions, missing answers or conflicting business information need attention
Deliverable
Customer-question and topic plan
What it helps you decide
Which buying questions your existing pages should answer and where useful information is missing
Deliverable
Prioritised recommendations
What it helps you decide
What to correct first, the reason for each change and any information needed from your team
Deliverable
Agreed website improvements
What it helps you decide
Clearer answers, useful links and accurate business details on the relevant pages; supported structured data where appropriate
Deliverable
Follow-up observations
What it helps you decide
What changed in the same test set, what did not and what needs further investigation
An assessment identifies the work; implementing every recommendation is not automatically part of that assessment. We explain which deliverables and changes are included in your project before starting.
The topic plan is based on questions a customer might ask before choosing you: what you offer, whether it fits their requirements and how to take the next step. It can include comparisons or practical explanations where those help a decision. We improve the relevant service or product page first, rather than create several pages for the same answer.
Where relevant, we also review business information and mentions on other public sources. We identify inconsistencies and opportunities to contribute useful, accurate information. We do not promise that a third-party mention will produce an AI citation.
07Limits
Measure the limits as well as the observations
A business mention and a linked citation are different observations. One answer is not a stable ranking, and a missing mention does not prove that a particular page is inaccessible.
- We record the question, date, platform, search mode, language and location behind each observation. Where possible, we repeat the same test set so a change in the questions is not mistaken for a change in visibility.
- If we report a mention or citation percentage, we show the number of eligible test answers and the sample used. A result in ten agreed questions describes those tests; it does not measure your share of every AI answer. A test where the answer feature did not appear is recorded separately from an answer that omitted your business.
- Referral visits and relevant enquiries are assessed separately from mentions and citations where tracking allows. Search and enquiry data can provide context, but we do not label a general traffic total as a dedicated AI result without the evidence to support it.
- Bing Webmaster Tools offers AI citation reporting for supported experiences. Those citations are not a count of visits or sales, and the data does not cover every AI answer. Where account access and the report are available, we use it alongside direct observations and referral data. Bing AI Performance guidance.
- Google also documents a Generative AI performance report for AI Overviews and AI Mode impressions. Where the report is available for your property, we review it by page, country and device alongside other search and enquiry information. Those impressions show exposure, not visits or sales. The wider Web search total is not an AI-only measure. Google's Generative AI performance report.
08Voice
Voice search and spoken questions
Someone asking a question aloud still needs a useful answer. We review natural customer questions, clear service descriptions and accurate local details where they apply. For a nearby provider search, our Local SEO service covers the business information and local pages behind that decision.
Voice search and AI answers overlap, but they are not interchangeable. A spoken query, a linked AI answer and an enquiry need separate evidence; we do not claim a universal voice-search ranking.
Questions about AI search
Can you guarantee a citation?
No. Search and AI platforms control the answers and sources they show.
Is this separate from SEO?
It overlaps with sound website and SEO work. The relevant assessment is chosen around the visibility question rather than assuming a separate technical trick is needed.
Do you cover LLM visibility, AEO and GEO?
Yes. These terms commonly describe work on visibility in AI answers: large language model (LLM) visibility, answer engine optimization (AEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO). We define the actual platforms, questions and deliverables with you so the labels do not become separate charges for the same work.
Is this the same as AI automation?
No. This service concerns how customers discover and understand your business through search and AI answers. AI Automation concerns workflows inside your business.
What if I checked once and did not appear?
Record the question and platform, then investigate systematically. A single result is a starting observation, not a diagnosis.

Make the visibility question specific
Bring the website and the questions you have been testing. We will help identify what can be checked and what the evidence can support.
