Divi to WordPress Blocks Conversion

We convert Divi-built pages into native WordPress blocks (the standard editor that comes with WordPress), so you can change theme or stop paying for a builder without leaving broken pages behind. The work happens inside WordPress. Your domain, hosting and posts stay where they are.

The main risk is what Divi leaves in your content, so we look at that before we rebuild anything.

01Choose

Choose what you want to change

Tell us whether you need a few pages cleaned up, new templates, or the whole site freed from Divi. Your choices shape the plan for the call, nothing more.

Where this startsOur site is built with Divi and I am worried that changing theme will leave strange codes and gaps across the pages.

Choose one part, several parts or the whole project
  • Divi version and page-by-page fault list
  • Clean-up of text pages
  • Block templates and rebuilt layouts
  • Whole-site search for leftover codes and gaps
  • Staged release, builder removal and editor handover

Check first: What a copy of the site looks like with Divi switched off.

Next: Share your site address and the reason you want to leave Divi.

    • Confirm which Divi version the site runs
    • Disable Divi on a private test copy
    • Open one page of each type and note every fault
    • Sort pages into clean-up jobs and rebuilds

Check first: Whether the site runs Divi 4 or Divi 5.

In plain terms

Shortcode
A short piece of code in square brackets that a builder uses to draw part of a page.
Block
A building piece of the WordPress editor, such as a heading, image or column.
Redirect
An instruction that sends visitors from an old address to the new one.

02Diagnose

Find out what Divi has left in your pages

Elegant Themes says Divi, before version 5, stored builder elements as shortcodes (short codes in square brackets). If Divi is disabled, those shortcodes show on the page as visible text. Divi 5 stores content in a block-style format, but Elegant Themes does not spell out what visitors see when Divi 5 is switched off. We check which case you are in with this path.

  1. Confirm which Divi version the site runs.
  2. Copy the site to a private test version.
  3. Disable Divi on the copy and open one page of each type.
  4. Note every page where brackets, codes or blank space appear.
  5. Sort the pages into clean-up jobs and full rebuilds.

03Rebuild

Clean the shortcodes and rebuild the layouts

A page with mostly text may only need its shortcodes stripped and its headings, lists and images tidied inside blocks. A page with columns, tabs, sliders or custom spacing is rebuilt from the original design. We do not trust a bulk find-and-replace for layout, because a removed code can leave an empty gap or merge two sections.

Moving to Divi 5 is a separate decision. It keeps the builder, so it suits you only if you want to stay on Divi.

04Test

Look for abandoned shortcodes and layout gaps

  • What we look for

Visible square brackets or code fragments

    Where it tends to hide

Text sections, older posts and widgets

  • What we look for

Empty gaps where a layout used to sit

    Where it tends to hide

Rows that held only spacing or a background

  • What we look for

    Missing header, footer or menu

    Where it tends to hide

Every template, including archives and search

  • What we look for

Contact forms that no longer send

    Where it tends to hide

Pages with an enquiry or newsletter form

  • What we look for

Mobile layouts that stack in the wrong order

    Where it tends to hide

    Pages with side-by-side columns

We also search the whole site for leftover bracket codes, not only the pages we rebuilt.

05Launch

Release the rebuilt site in a controlled way

We replace pages in agreed groups, starting with the ones that carry the most enquiries.

  • Your team reviews each group before the next begins.
  • Addresses are kept wherever possible.
  • Any address that changes gets a redirect (an instruction that sends visitors from an old address to the new one), tested before launch.
  • Divi stays installed until the last page passes, and is removed only after your sign-off.
  • We then monitor search performance.
  • Changing page markup can move rankings in either direction, so we promise no result.
  • Our WordPress Migration Services page describes the wider route.

Questions about leaving Divi

Will Divi shortcodes disappear when I switch theme?

No. For Divi 4, Elegant Themes says they show on the page when Divi is disabled, so the content needs clean-up or a rebuild.

Is Divi 5 content safe to leave as it is?

We cannot say that. Elegant Themes does not describe the front end with Divi 5 switched off, so we test it first.

Do I have to rebuild every page?

No. Simple text pages may only need clean-up, while layout-heavy pages are rebuilt.

Can you keep my current look?

Yes, where the look still serves you. We rebuild from the existing pages, and a new design through WordPress Website Design is optional.
